New 3D smartphones with no need for glasses
New 3D technology is being constantly unveiled. HTC presented the new EVO 3D, which has a 4.3 inch touchscreen with 3D imagery without the need of glasses. Users will also be able to capture 3D photos and videos using a special double camera on the back of the phone.
The video is not great, but it's a work in progress. We can be sure that future models will greatly enhance this feature. For the moment, the operating system will remain the same - Google's Android OS.
LG is also working on a 3D version of their own, that will soon hit the stores as "Optimus 3D". They also persuaded Google to make YouTube videos produced with 3-D cameras available in a separate application and allow phone users to upload them directly.
"Instead of being at the mercy of Hollywood studios to bring 3-D content, why don't we enable our customers to create their own 3-D content?" said Yongseok Jang, LG's vice president of strategy.
